It was a bit disheartening in one of our last London Show meetings, as the cake sale team are one of the only groups that are actually doing any fundraising and we are definitely trying to keep them as frequent as possible. So far I would say we have made over £500 between us, which is great for just baking cakes, however we were a bit slated and told that we weren't making enough money from it. I found this quite annoying as we are actually trying unlike some other people involved in the show. It has made me second guess whether I actually want to be involved in the show, it just seems like a lot of drama and yes the end result would be amazing, but I'm not looking to become a photographer in the sense that I would need to showcase my work, I want to be a medical photographer, which has a clear route of entry into the job.
I do think I would feel a bit left out as it came closer to the date and it's a great way to end the three years of education, so I will be staying in the show, it would just be nice to have the support from everyone on the show, instead of being told we aren't doing well enough.

Fundraising
My job role in Exclave is fundraising. We have a team of around 9 of us that are in charge of bake sales. We are now on our 7th. Although this is quite a long term way of fundraising, we have been making between £80 and £120 a time, which is quite good considering the sales aren't the biggest of displays.
We had a bit of an issue to begin with, as people were spending a lot on ingredients and were out of pocket because of it, but we have come up with a fair way to split the funds for our individual fundraising targets.
We will all have £50 towards it as we haven't taken any money back from the profit for what we have spend on ingredients. We are then going to add on £10 for each bake sale that we have baked for/sold at.

EXCLAVE Website/Publication
We've been asked to write a bio about ourselves for the website and publication. Here is what I ended up with:
Influenced by personal stories, and specific environments Jess‘ work explores the relationship people have with their everyday surroundings. With experimentation, she has found that her work is best expressed through multimedia and publications. Documentary practice is the forefront of her style as she believes this method allows for her to portray a found narrative in a more authentic way. Creating a story through the use of landscape, still life and portraiture Jess’ work allows her to depict the experiences of another person. Preferring to shoot more candid and unbiased moments, Jess’ work is much about finding intriguing social groups that have something unique about them.
